Michel Kollar is a Paris Saint-Germain historian and knows the capital club’s history inside and out. In a recent interview with France Football (via Canal Supporters), Kollar discussed the place of Edinson Cavani among the great goal scorers to wear the Parisian colors.

Despite El Matador being PSG’s all-time goal scorer, Kollar doesn’t view him as the number-one goal scorer. For him, the best player to put the ball in the back of the net for Les Parisiens remains Zlatan Ibrahimović.

“For me, he is in the top 5 of PSG’s biggest goal scorers but not the first. First Ibra, then Pauleta, Bianchi, Dahleb then Cavani tied with Rocheteau. He is an exceptional player who has marked the history of the club but who has benefited from very strong partners. For a Pauleta or a Bianchi, it was still more complicated,” Kollar said.

“Ibra had more impact. Hehe was stronger than him. Cavani, we will remember his goals but also his incredible failures. I think we will retain the man more than the striker. He has a real love rating. He was able to communicate very well. I compare him to Pauleta for that.”

Arriving in 2012, the Sweden international was the first true superstar signing of the Qatar Sports Investment era. Ibrahimović would make 180 appearances and score 156 goals during his time in Paris. Continue reading
