Thibaut Courtois currently leads the way in the race for the Zamora trophy after keeping another clean sheet in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Real Mallorca.
The Belgian goalkeeper has conceded 18 goals in 28 games this season in LaLiga Santander, giving him an average rate of 0.64 goals conceded per game.
His closest rival, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, was an average rate of 0.71 goals conceded per game having conceded 22 goals in 31 games.
Athletic Club’s Unai Simon (0.86 goals conceded per game) is third, Getafe’s David Soria (0.94) is fourth and Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen (0.97) is fifth in the standings.
Courtois could become the first Real Madrid goalkeeper to win the Zamora trophy since Iker Casillas did so in the 2007/08 season. Continue reading
