Real Madrid Zidane’s men want to take advantage
In the third game back after the coronavirus break, Real Madrid have the chance surpass Barcelona in the table, and have their LaLiga destiny in their own hands for the first time since the costly defeat to Real Betis before the break.
The hard-fought victory over Valencia had a double-reward for Real Madrid as it brought three vital points and maintained the pressure on Quique Setien’s men on the eve of their clash with Sevilla in the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.
Zinedine Zidane didn’t want to give Barcelona an inch, and the Catalan club’s slip-up in Seville has now opened the door for Madrid to take control in the league.
This match against La Real is another tough test for Los Blancos, with the chance to leapfrog Barcelona giving an added layer of importance to this fixture meaning Zidane and his men will have to be at their best.
Real Sociedad will take confidence in the fact that Real Madrid are the club against which coach Imanol Alguacil has enjoyed his best record of victories, triumphing over Los Blancos three times, and will be looking to put an end to their bad run of form since the return of LaLiga and grab three vital points to try and push for the Champions League spots again.
