Barcelona’s loanees are causing headaches

Barcelona have yet another headache to deal with, as they must try to resolve the futures of some players currently out on loan.

Leagues are now set to run beyond June 30, when all loan agreements end, and there is utter uncertainty about how the contractual issues that will arise will be dealt with.

Barcelona have four first-team players loaned out at the moment – Philippe Coutinho, Carles Alena, Rafinha Alcantara and Jean-Clair Todibo.

The most pressing concern is the question over who will be responsible for paying the players for the extra time they spend out on loan.

It looks as though the players will stay put at their temporary clubs until their respective seasons have come to an end, but they will need to be paid.  Continue reading
