Dominique Anglade, of Haitian origin, the only candidate in the running, was crowned at the head of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) this Monday, May 11, 2020. The Montreal member for the riding of Saint-Henri-Sainte-Anne took the reins of political party thatsame afternoon.
At the end of a leadership race strongly shaken up by COVID-19, the executive of the Quebec Liberal Party adopted a resolution to make Anglade the new leader of the party. By Wednesday she was the parliamentary leader in the National.
The Political Party’s Executive Council met to take stock of the leadership contest which was suspended until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
