Joan Laporta is planning to once again run for presidency in Barcelona’s 2021 elections.

Having been in office as president at the Camp Nou from 2003 to 2010, Laporta is hoping to get back into the hot seat.

“It’s a dramatic situation and we’re working on a proposal to turn things around,” Laporta told TV3’s ‘Tot es Mou’, confirming his intentions to run.

“I’m excited about it. I’ve already been president and I’m looking forward to continuing to work for Barcelona.

“I’m looking forward to managing a period in the club’s history where there will be players with a few years left who played when I was last president.

“The institutional image has to be changed because the image they’ve had in recent years isn’t what the club want.”

Laporta oversaw Pep Guardiola‘s all-conquering reign at the club and he’d been keen for the Manchester City coach to make a comeback.
