If Serie A were to stop early and use the French points per game system, then Milan would drop below Hellas Verona and Parma, with Lecce, SPAL and Brescia relegated.

Ligue 1 was officially called off today and a statement confirmed the final table was calculated using points per game, to even out the situation where some teams have played more fixtures than others.

There is another problem here, as usually in Italy the head-to-head record is used to differentiate when teams are level on points.

As the season was terminated early, that is not possible in the case of Verona and Parma.

It would most likely instead be calculated on goal difference, in which case Hellas Verona would come out on top with +3 compared to +1.
