“In Haiti, the EU will mobilize, in consultation with the Haitian government, the funds that were still available from the bilateral program portfolio. This will include support to the Ministry of Health for the implementation of the Covid-19 crisis response plan. In addition to this funding, we will also increase our urgent and humanitarian response through ECHO. The global package of new or redirected actions to support efforts in response to the crisis may total up to 165 million euros, “the European Union said on Wednesday 29 April 2020.

“But beyond these resources, what is important is to give together impetus to a robust, coordinated and multilateral response. The health crisis knows no borders between regions or between countries. The challenge is just beginning, “said the European Union, warning that the global economic crisis will increase inequality and affect the most vulnerable the hardest.
