The Collective of December 4 warns against “fraudulent, unjustified and abusive use of funds and donations intended to curb the Covid-19 pandemic in Haiti.

The civil society group called for the immediate establishment of a task force to supervise the funds and various contributions, according to a document obtained by the online agency AlterPresse.

“In the current context, the weakness of the control bodies opens the way to waste and has a dilapidation as repugnant as those experienced in the last 10 years,” warns the Collective.

Many funds are already committed to fight the pandemic, recalls the organization: first $18 million  from the public treasury, then other funds made available to the country, including $111.6 million from the IMF and $13.2 million from the USAID.
