Monday, April 13, 2020 ((rezonodwes.com)) – Built around 207 years ago under the orders of King Henry Christophe, the chapel Immaculée Conception of Milot, located below the Palace of Sans Souci, was ravaged by flames in the night of Sunday April 12 to Monday April 13, 2020.

This royal chapel was also a mausoleum, as priests and officers were buried inside. The building was classified as a national heritage about fifty years ago by l’Institut de Sauvegarde du Patrimoine National (ISPAN). In 1982, it was classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
