BVB chief Hans-Joachim Watzke believes German football ‘is in the biggest crisis in its history’.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has called for solidarity amid the coronavirus outbreak, which in his opinion has left German football ‘in the biggest crisis in its history’.

The German Football League (DFL) has proposed suspension of Bundesliga games until at least April 2. And in case the remaining nine games of the season aren’t completed, the Bundesliga could lose €700 million, as per Sport1.

The DFL Executive Committee has made a decision that must be respected – regardless of the fact that there were certainly other ways to go about it. We must all stand in solidarity with one another on this and discuss the relevant recommendations on Monday. Continue reading
