Recently, police officers have taken part in violent protests to demand the right to form a union, and according to Radio Metropole, police authorities are now working towards restoring order within the Police National d’Haiti. Rameau Normil, Chief of Police, earlier this week called for calm ensuring that the police officers’ problems were his own. “The officers demands are legitimate and I told the authorities about these problems,” said Normil.
