In an attempt to ease tension, President Jovenel Moïse promised housing, free access to health care, life insurance, one hundred percent increase in the amount available on debit cards, among other things at the National Palace this Saturday, Feb. 22. According to Le Nouvelliste, the main concern of the moment is the rebellious police officers. Their capacity to sow panic not only in the capital but provincial towns, like Cap-Haitien, forces the authorities to listen to them and meet their demands.
