According to Le Nouvlliste, Thursday, Feb. 14, the Orphelinat de l’Eglise de la compréhension de la Bible located in Fermathe caught on fire, and as a result 15 children lost their lives. Robenty Jean François, head of civil protection in Kenscoff said that 13 of the children passed at a hospital due to complications from smoke inhalation, while the two other children both disabled died in the fire. The fire was determined to have been caused by a candle that was left burning.
