According to Le Nouvelliste, Dr. Pascale Yola Gassant, pediatric oncologist, is the main reason why Saint-Damien Hospital has an oncology department. Saint-Damien forged a partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the U.S. which facilitated the training of two sub-specialists in pediatric oncology, including the current department head Pascale Yola Gassant.
