A second call for dialogue from President Jovenel Moïse

In a tweet published Monday, Jan. 20, President Jovenel Moïse reiterated his desire for dialogue with his political opponents.  The tweet read as follows, “Inter-Haitian dialogue remains the only way for a lasting solution to the crisis. It is my dearest wish to advance this process with the key sectors of the country with a view to establishing a government of national unity, capable of initiating necessary reforms for the advancement of Haiti.”

Haiti participates at conference against terrorism

Jan. 19-20, 2020, Bocchit Edmond, minister of foreign affairs took part in the third Regional Ministerial Conference on the Fight against Terrorism, which took place in Bogota, Colombia.  During the conference, Bocchit stated, “the Haitian government has always unequivocally and in all forms condemned terrorism in any form, whatever the motivation and wherever it comes from.”

PAPJAZZ opens with acclaim

On Jan. 18, Dee Dee Bridgewater captivated the audience in attendance at the opening of the 14th edition of the  Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival (PAPJAZZ) at Karibe Hotel. The Grammy and Tony award artist played several recognizable jazz standards during her set and wowed the audience with her undeniable talent. 

Haitian American Assemblywoman Becomes First Woman To Lead Brooklyn Democratic Party

Powerful Haitian-American politician Rodneyse Bichotte made history on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, becoming the first woman to be chosen as leader of the Kings County Democratic Party.

Bichotte, who currently serves as New York State Assembly Member and Democratic State Committeewoman for the 42nd District, was officially elected by district leaders Monday night at the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club. Continue reading

A Seat at the Table: Dîner en Blanc Haiti

Haitian-American promoter, Jimmy Moise was determined to have a seat at the table and give the French franchise, Dîner en Blanc, the upscale international pop-up picnic, a taste of Haiti. Last month, on Dec. 28, over a thousand guests gathered in West Palm Beach, FL for the elaborate picnic dinner.
