Almost 800 Haitians Detained in Dominican Republic in Immigration Raids

According to local reports, Dominican immigration officials have arrested 789 Haitians. Of the nearly 800 that were detained, 666 have been deported. The raids were conducted between Dec.9 and Dec. 12 in the communities of of Azua, Dajabón, Mirabal, La Vega, Montecristi, Sánchez Ramírez, Santiago, Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata provinces and the National District.
