Impact of ‘Peyi Lok’ on Haiti’s Health Care Starts to Emerge

Following months of protests and unrest, Haiti is on its way back to normalcy. With the calm, stories have started to emerge on the toll the protests and “Peyi Lok” had on the health care system. In one instance, a woman pregnant with twins died after her ambulance was unable to get through road blockades, Le Nouvelliste reported.

According to health administration officials, getting stats on how many deaths and injuries were due to complications from the protests will be hard to come by.

Prior to “Peyi Lok” there was not a functioning health-care system since former puppet of the international, installed
former President Martelly, had left office. Nurses and doctors went on strike for better pay and working conditions: still, to these days, the irresponsible government officials have not provide any basic social services: government officials are useless, they don’t know why they were elected in office to provide and finance basic socials programs!
Their main goals are to self-serving themselves, embezzling the country’s financials systems for their own personal gain: buying luxurious properties overseas to enjoy after their public services are expired!
