Edwing Charles, Minister of Youth, accompanied by Mario Florvil, General Director and officials of the Ministry, met last week with members of the National Commission for Disarmament, Dismantlement and Reintegration to discuss how to assist young people who are considered delinquents to normal life and prevent young people from low income neighborhoods from having bad experiences in their community. Joseph Jouthe, Minister of Environment, in Madrid
On Saturday, Dec. 7, Joseph Jouthe, Minister of Environment, left Haiti for Madrid, Spain to join the Haitian delegation taking part in the negotiations of the 25th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP25), the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC), which is being held from Dec. 2 to 13, 2019.
Upon his arrival in Madrid, Minister Jouthe responded to an invitation from his Taiwanese counterpart Chang Tzi-Chin, for a cocktail organized by Taiwan as a prelude to a formal meeting already planned between the two Ministers. Continue reading
Wall between Haiti and the Dominican Republic
While in the neighboring country voices arise asking for the construction of a wall along the Haitian-Dominican border. President Jovenel Moïse, in an interview, calls for the respect of the principle of sovereignty, saying he cares only about Haiti. “I am the president of Haiti. What interests me is to protect the citizens of Haiti. I am interested in working for the development of my country. I am interested because the 27 thousand 750 kilometers of land and nearly 90 thousand kilometers of sea are respected, and this is what the Constitution requires,” said the President. Continue reading
