President Jovenel Moise is calling for assistance from the international community, as the country struggles with rising inflation, growing insecurity and civil unrest.

“We are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis,” Moise said in an interview with Reuters on Friday. “We need international support to get through this crisis.”

The president is reportedly holding “closed-door talksks” with various factions of Haitian society, including civil society groups and members of the private sector.
