Over the past few years, Haitian-owned brands have worked to make their mark in the beauty industry. For this installment of #MakeUpMonday, I’ve decided to include products from Haitian-owned businesses in a beauty haul. The video includes the latest skin care, makeup and hair care products I’ve picked up from a few female and Haitian-owned businesses.

A favorite among many, Kreyol Essence specializes in natural & ethical beauty products, made in Haiti. With a staff that is 90 percent women and a 98 percent rate of exports, Kreyol Essence is working to alleviate poverty, increase jobs, promote better health, reduce deforestation and much more. The products mentioned in this video include the 100 percent Natural Haitian Moringa Oil Facial Cleanser and the 100 percent Natural Haitian Moringa Oil Nourising Face & Hair Oil.

The second brand mentioned in this haul is Viv & Jules Natural Products. Viv and Jules’ mission is to provide responsible and naturally-made products for your health, body and soul. This beauty haul includes the brand’s Jasmine Rose Clay Soap and Hair Growth Oil, which can be purchased via the brands website. Viv and Jules also provides a variety of services, including natural hair consultations.

Finally, JLuxe Cosmetics is a make-up company started by a mother and daughter duo. Following the death of her mother, the co-founder, Marsha, decided to honor her mother by continue their plan and taking the lead in building JLuxe Cosmetics. This haul features the brand’s matte lip gloss in MONDAZE, matte lipsticks in #4 and #60 and eyeshadow palette.
