Trade between DR and Haiti Decreased by 20%

Exports of products from the Dominican Republic to Haiti have slowed over the last five years. A decline of US $ 216 million was recorded during this period, according to figures published by the Center for Export and Investment (CEI-RD).
“Trade between the Dominican Republic and Haiti has decreased by 20% in the first quarter of 2019,” said Cesar Dargam, Executive Vice President of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep).

Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health Warns about Counterfeit Medicine

Ministry of Public Health and Population warns about the circulation, in Haiti, of a counterfeit medicine, sold under the name of “Clarithromycin”, a tablet dosed at 500 milligrams. It is presented in a white opaque plastic bottle containing 100 tablets. The product bears a fake ‘Mylan’ logo. This medicine may contain dangerous molecules that can cause symptoms, which may worsen the health of the consumer, and even cause death.
Distributing, selling and consuming this product are prohibited on the national territory, informs the Ministry while urging the population to buy its drugs exclusively in authorized pharmacies, Alterpresse reports. Continue reading
