Academician and writer Dany Laferrière is the guest of honor at the 25th edition of Livres en folie to be held on June 20. Laferrière is the first writer to have been asked twice to be a guest of honor at this book fair. Haitian Newspaper, Le Nouvelliste, Denies Accusations of Michel Martelly
Alterpresse reports that the Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste has denounced the defamatory statements of former President Michel Martelly against them. In an interview given to a journalist while participating in the carnival in Les Cayes, Martelly said that Le Nouvelliste allegedly haggled his editorial line with his former administration.
“Mr. Michel Martelly has clearly defamed Le Nouvelliste several times. Le Nouvelliste never sold, never bargained or negotiated its editorial line with Mr. Martelly.
