Haiti: Judge Dieunel Lumerant Under Pressure to Drop Illegal Arms Trafficking Case

Unidentified individuals riddled with bullets the private residence of the examining magistrate Dieunel Lumérant, on the night of Thursday 29 to Friday, November 30, 2018, in the commune of Saint-Marc, department of Artibonite.

The window of the room was broken and the judge’s vehicle had projectile impacts.

Judge Dieunel Lumerant investigates the file of the illegal cargo of arms of St. Marc. Former General Director of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), Godson Orelus is locked in the civil prison of Saint-Marc following this case. Former minister of the interior and local authorities, Réginald Delva is indicted in this case.
