Haitian officials unveils first national plan to respond to health emergency
Several branches of the Ministry of Public Health and Population took an active part in an intensive five-day training – from 22 to 26 October 2018 – at Hotel Montana. Hosted by the Ministry of Public Health with the technical support of Dr. Leonardo Hernandez from Washington DC, Pan American Health Organization Emergency Operations Center, and partners , aimed at developing the first national plan for the management of exceptional health situations, which is part of the National Risk and Disaster Management Plan (2018-2030).

Mayors disrupt Haitian President Moïse’s speech
Mayors from several cities expressed anger and frustration by disrupting Haitian President Jovenel Moïse speech at the inaugural ceremony of the Congress of the National Federation of Haitian Mayors.
Mayors have raised their voices on a number of occasions to protest certain statements by the head of state that they describe as untrue. On the issue of vehicle distribution to municipalities, the Mayors argued that the promises were not kept. President Jovenel Moïse admitted that difficulties prevent the implementation of the project for 140 municipalities.
