Haiti: Judge Lumerant had been in hiding since last Friday

Judge Dieunel Lumerant fears for his life because of threats following the incarceration of the former director general of the Police, Godson Orelus.
In the afternoon of October 26, the judge had executed an arrest warrant issued against Mr. Oréus. The former police chief was interviewed for the second time as part of an investigation into arms trafficking.

The threats made by phones point to revenge against Judge Lumerant. Residents in his neighborhood also reported the suspicious presence of a car with an official tag a few hours after Mr. Orelus was incarcerated.
