Carel Pedre and the Chokarella team hosted a networking brunch on July 21 in Brooklyn, where the well-known Haiti radio personality hosted a panel with some key members of the Haitian community. Panelists included, caterer Nadege Fleurimond, author of Haiti Uncovered: A Regional Adventure Into the Art of Haitian Cuisine; Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte; Ouigi Theodore; and Jackson Chery, member of IET Band. Funds from the mixer will be used to help Pedre finance Chokarella’s upcoming trip to New York for the annual Labor Day Festival.
