Fashion designer Dayanne Danier hosted Les Jardins de la Mode,  pop-up shop in Manhattan on Aug. 19 to showcase a variety of products from Bien AbyĆ©, Sandilou, Deux Noirs, Artisans du Monde, Dorpare, and Askanya.

Les Jardins de la Mode pop-up featured fashion apparel and accessories, home goods, and gourmet products by Haitian entrepreneurs who are influential in their craft and share the common bond of having their merchandise sourced and/or inspired by Haiti.

ā€œLes Jardins de la Mode pop-ups are all about showing the lifestyle behind the creole concept of Bien AbyĆ©. Growing up in a Haitian culture, it was always expressed that one who is Bien AbyĆ© also believes in having exquisite artwork decorating their house, fabulous jewelry from Haitian artisans, and eating great food made of typical creole ingredients,ā€ Danier said.  ā€œThese popups are all about sharing those elements with an audience that is not used to seeing this side of Haitian culture.ā€

Danier is the  designer behind the womenā€™s contemporary ready-to-wear brand Bien AbyĆ©, which means well dressed in Haitian Kreyol. She has hosted pop up shops in Boston, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Miami and Haiti.
