The Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) of Greater New York hosted its Fifth Annual HANA Leadership Convention at the Harriet Rothkopf Heilbrunn School of Nursing on the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University from June 15 -17. This year’s theme was “HANA: Collaborating to Transform Healthcare and Nursing Education to Achieve Global Health Outcomes through Leadership, Technology, and Research.” The convention featured keynote addresses from Dr. Donna Nickitas, Executive Officer of the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Program at the Graduate Center, City University of New York and Dr. Marie O. Etienne, a Professor of Nursing in Miami Dade College.

The goal of Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) of Greater New York’s Fifth Annual Leadership Convention is to engage, motivate, empower, and equip nurses with tools to become effective leaders, while achieving a positive work life balance and positive patient outcomes.
