Haiti advocates denounce murder of 3 disabled women
Organizations across Haiti convened Wednesday to defend the rights of the disabled and denounce the murder of three disabled women, who were accused of being witches. The incident occurred on Mar. 18, while the women were looking for a place to sleep.
“This is unthinkable in our society that such crimes be committed,” Gérald Oriol Jr., Secretary of State for the Integration of People Disabilities said.
New Haiti foreign minister installed
The new minister of foreign affairs was installed during a ceremony chaired by Aviol Fleurant the new minister of Planning and External Cooperation on Wednesday.
He pledged to make Haitian diplomacy more dynamic and visible on the international stage, while working to strengthen international relations and protecting rights of Haitian nationals living abroad.
