On Sunday Nov. 1, Maryse Noel, general director of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries, visited the town of Comendador at the Dominican border to assess progress for the preparation of the 6th Bi-national Ecotourism Production Fair. It will take place November 7–15, 2015. This event is significant as it contributes to strengthening relations between the Haitian and Dominican people.
Accompanied by Dr. Jose Serulle Ramia, general coordinator of the fair, toured the site alongside senior administrators of the Fundación Ciencia y Arte, which is responsible for the organization of the event. They noted that the construction of the pavilions and booths for both countries were well underway.
A large delegation of well-known Haitian artists representing diverse artistic, dance, music, and culinary arts will participate in the fair. Afterwards Noel, Ramia and Jacqueline Boin, President of the Fundación Ciencia y Arte met with Carter Fourrien, mayor of Belladère, and Dinois Rateau, mayor of Lascahobas, both heads of cultural and artistic organizations who will participate in the fair.
