From now until Aug. 29, JetBlue passengers flying to Haiti from New York, Boston or Fort Lauderdale, and staying at the Marriott in Port-au-Prince will pay a flat rate of $125 a night. An additional $1 fee is charged per person for breakfast.
The discounted rates are part of a joint initiative between JetBlue and Marriott to help with the reforestation of Haiti. The difference in rates — $23, will be donated to MUCI, a Haitian organization that sponsors the planting of one tree for every $1 donated as part of Haiti’s reforestation campaign.
The promotion runs until Aug. 29 with travels dates by Aug. 31. A 10 percent government tax will also be charged.
