The Haitian American Caucus (HAC), along with members of the Coalition For Human Rights in the Dominican Republic (CHRDR), will march on Friday, Aug. 14, to demonstrate the injustice of mass expulsions of Dominico-Haitians from the Dominican Republic.

“I am personally not satisfied with the response from the United States,” said Jennings Louis, who organized the march. “I don’t feel like things are moving fast enough in terms of addressing the issue overall on a wide scale.”

The march will be promoted more effectively since there is more time to plan as opposed to the last march that was put together in just 48 hours, said Louis.

A website has been launched to provide the public with updates on current events surrounding the issue and the march on coalitionagainstracismindr.org.

“This is only the beginning and we will continue this journey until justice is served and the monsters and opportunist behind this human rights crime are held accountable,” said Louis.

Sponsored by Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte and Councilmember Mathieu Eugene, the Haitian Diaspora in New York City and HAC will march at 9:00 a.m. from Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza to City Hall in Brooklyn, New York.
