In a keynote speech at the opening of the Third Annual Conference of the National Association of Haitian Professionals held in Boston, Massachusetts, Minister for Haitians living abroad François Guillaume II announced that his ministry is setting up an integration program that will allow young qualified professionals from the diaspora to come to Haiti in support of public institutions.

This program slated to go into effect in early 2015 will match the professional’s area of expertise with key public institutions where they can put their knowledge and experience to work for the homeland over a pilot period of 9 months.

“Several of our countrymen are experts in different fields and are currently serving other countries. I am sure their knowledge and experience can be a great asset in the government’s efforts to modernize public administration and the private sector as well,” said Minister Guillaume

Professionals attending the conference greeted the announcement with cheers.

Minister Guillaume added that these young professionals will have the full support of the Martelly / Lamothe administration whose vision includes the integration and participation of all Haiti’s sons and daughters in the development of their country.

“I am confident that this program will strengthen the bond between Haiti and its diaspora,” concluded Minister Guillaume who is attending the conference as a special guest.
