Montreal-based Haitian indie pop band Jjanice + released their latest video “Fleur du Désert” (Desert Flower) this week. Jjanice’s music blends spoken word poetry, indie pop, soul music and Afro-Caribbean French / Creole influences.

Jjanice+ music is a journey through a world of indie rock, soul, electropop and Afro-Caribbean influences recalling his native Haiti. It’s a sound full of rich subtleties, composed with long-time collaborator Patrice Agbokou and reknowned Montreal producer Haig Vee. Jjanice+ intertwines atmospheres and uses his gift for storytelling, his talent and sensibility to create a unique and personal output. His song Fleur du Désert (Desert Flower) speaks of the constant search of the ideal, whether it be love, life, the eldorado. Told through the eyes of an outcast traveler seeking beauty and life in an uninhabitable, almost inaccessible place.
