The NY Haitian Leadership coalition in conjunction with Councilman Jumaane Williams’ office launched a gofundme campaign to raise money for Joie Sellers’ family. Earlier this month twelve-year-old Joie Sellers was struck down and killed by Robert DeCarlo, who was speeding in a stolen vehicle.

“Words seem inadequate to express how we feel about the tragic killing of Joie Sellers, and brutal injuries of Charli Sellers and Marcia Landais,” the NY-Haitian Leadership Coalition said. “A family is now broken due to unnecessary negligence.”

Marcia Landais, Sellers’ mother, and her sister Charli, survived the accident, but sustained multiple serious injuries. The trio was pinned under the stolen van, driven by DeCarlo, for 20 minutes.

“The NY-Haitian Leadership Coalition has created this fund to provide assistance and support for the Sellers family during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your cooperation.”
