After trying Vee fewer times than the previous girls as back-up singer, ZIN has hit a financial wall. The band has cut its staff and reduced its out-of-state traveling members to facilitate their tours. Vee becomes the first Zin member to be affected by the global financial crisis of the Haitian music industry. She will not be traveling and performing with the band outside New York, except to fill in for any singer in their absence. A close source to the band said that several promoters have been complaining lately about the number of people traveling with Haitian bands, making their budget difficult to balance. Also, Zin doesn’t want to overestimate its revenues and be in a position not to meet its payroll. Interim singer Polo, who was just hired recently, will be the only “extra” member to travel with the band outside the New York area.
