Jean-Robert “Porky’ Herisse, a Haitian veteran musician and composer, passed away in Haiti December 17, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife and children. Porky belonged to a family of musicians. He was the legendary bass player for Les Difficiles de Petion-Ville, and DP Express. He performed extensively all over Haiti and the Caribbean at a time when Compas music was at its top. At the international level, his performances with DP Express in Martinique, Guadeloupe, St-Martin, and France were worth notice.
