Haitian Jazzman Thurgot Theodat is traveling to Paris next month for a little more than a week of tourism and show tunes as he’s scheduled to play the “Mizik Faktory” series at Parc de la Villette. Scheduled are three gigs between May 15 and May 18. The sounds of Haitian jazz will clash with songs from jazz luminaries like Malavoi, Fortuna, and other genres such as Valerie Louri, Queen Omega, Don Carlos, Barrington Levy, Danyèl Waro etc. More than 20 artists and bands from the Caribbean and Reunion Island will gather at la Villette to share common cultural roots. Over 40,000 music fans are due to attend Mizik Faktory’s biggest event, which will see jazz and roots veterans headline on the main stage. RAM will also grace the stage.
