Radio Metropole is planning to hold its 40th anniversary in a special event that will be held on March 8, 2010. For the first time, all former employees, reporters, DJ’s, board operators will gather to celebrate with fans and fervent listeners of the station. Guests will also be invited to tell stories, and each former staffer will host a one-hour show or present the news as they used to do in recent years. “This has been Herby’s dream to gather everybody next year on the 40th anniversary,” said Wesly Desinor, a longtime board operator. Special guests, including Bob Lemoine, Philippe Jean-Francois, Marcus Garcia, Isabel Cossins, and others will also enjoy the new location of the station and the microphones will also be open for public to comment on their best memories. A reception will be a highlight of the evening and the general public will be greeted in the yard for music and dance. Radio Metropole opened in March 1970 and has been one of the leading stations in Haiti.
