Emmanuel “Gregory” Chevry is not a politician, but he will start being one as legislative elections begin next April in Haiti. People scoffed at the idea of an artist or a producer running for political office, but that has changed lately with a number of music industry movers and shakers have shown interests in Haitian politics. Now the field seems wide open, Konpa Factory is gathering up signatures and raising funds to get Gregory’s candidacy for BEC as he is hoping to win one seat in the city of Hinche in the April’s elections.
