Haitian chanterelle Martha Jean-Claude, known affectionately as Mamita will be honored at the annual Farah Juste Concert to be held next year in Miami. It was announced last week by Merline Joseph, coordinator of the event. The late legendary singer is being honored in recognition of her exceptional artistic achievements as well as her political character, and philanthropic work. The concert will feature artists such as Carole Demesmin, Emeline Michel, Tifane among others that will perform rendition of Martha’s greatest hits. Martha Jean Claude died at age 82 on November 14, 2001 in Havana.
