For today’s teenagers and the ones in their twenties songs from the 1980s may sound outdated. But for people who spent their youth in Haiti and had known the Haitian Christmas tradition, Lionel Benjamin could mean a lot.
“It seems that I never left Haiti every time they mention Lionel Benjamin,” said 46-year-old Sarah.
The “Tonton Nwèl Lokal” is going to hold a concert in North Miami featuring songs from the 1980s. The concert which will take place on December 21, will not only about nostalgia, but will bring back Haitian Christmas tradition to Miami in a family environment.
“For me, a Christmas concert with Lionel Benjamin is a time of pure joy and youth, and to see him live in Miami is just a dream come true.”
