Producers and musicians have historically been at odds. It seems they have a love and hate relationship at times. But relations between Kaliko Productions and Beldjaz are about to deteriorate. Beldjaz was accused of selling and distributing their CD in Boston and elsewhere, when Kaliko is supposed to be the main distributor of the product. The wall of apathy is building up, and the problem is real. Kaliko Productions said that he has to work harder now to sell Haitian CDs to retailers, but was shocked to learn that someone in Boston is already selling Beljazz in stores there. It’s a fundamental breach of the contract by the band that could force Kaliko to terminate its distribution rights and stop its collaboration with them.
