Soon it will be Carnival Time again in Haiti and despite the social and economic challenges the country faces, Carnival lovers came out last Sunday to wave their flags jump and up and have a good time as a warm-up moment on many streets in Port-au-Prince. The annual Haiti Carnival season will climax on February 22-24, but pre-carnival Sundays are only a warm-up for the three-day popular fete with its massive crowd, live bands, pulsating music and unparalleled stamina for partying. Port-au-Prince Mayor jean-Yves Jason has announced this year carnival theme “Men nan men, lavi ka bèl” during a press conference held on January 8 at the Ministry of Culture.
