The festival Just For Laugh in Montreal has been criticized for not having enough minority artists in their line-up for years, and this has prompted several comedians and actors to create a new comedy festival “Ririri” in order to offer a new opportunity to black comedians in quest of exposure. “Ririri” co-founder Fabienne Colas said that Just For Laugh only program one or two black comedians and that’s not enough. She thinks that “Ririri” will foster good humor and bring the gift of laughter by Haitian, Antillean and African artists to as many people as possible. The first edition of “Ririri” will open in March, 2009.
