Creole Festival, in partnership with Parc La Ronde, will host the first Creofolies Festival in Montreal next month. The new festival should play an important role in preserving Quebec City’s cultural diversity, according to the event director Pierre-Gerald Jean. He created the festival to celebrate the accomplishments of people of Caribbean descent who were somehow “invisible” at the Francopholies. Creofolies festival includes music, dance, Caribbean cuisine, book signings, etc. Caribbean artists, mostly Haitians and French Antilleans will highlight the first edition of the festival.
