Wilson Bigaud, for many years one of the most prominent Haitian painters, died last week in Vialet, Petit-Goave after a long battle with hemorrhoids. He was 85. He had earned international acclaim for his style that depicts simple Haitian countryside living. He also combined Vodou elements in his paintings.
