Haitian actress Fabienne Colas was honored by the Ministry of Women’s Conditions and Rights last week with a special prize, which is presented by Minister Marie Laurence Jocelyn Lassegue for her overall contributions to the Haitian film industry.
In a grand ballroom of female hero’s ceremony at the Ministry in Port-a-Prince, the Jocelyn Lassegue extolled Colas’ contributions to the promotion of Haitian culture abroad and then presented the actress with a plaque. The guidelines for the honor are loftily phrased, stating that the award is “destined to recompense persons who have distinguished themselves by their effort in the artistic domain or by the diffusion of Haitian culture throughout the world. Fabienne Colas was in Haiti promoting the first Canadian Film Festival.
