Deputy-Elect Gracia Delva said he will continue to be the lead singer of his band, Mass Compas, despite his new political gig. Delva said that he will rethink how Haitian music and festivals can be used as a catalyst to mobilize the youth. Although Delva is now focused on politics, he will continue as a musician, like Manno Charlemagne did after he was elected mayor of Port-au-Prince.
Delva, who first stepped into the political spotlight as deputy for Marchand-Dessalines, was elected by a large majority. “Delva thinks about his showbiz days, when he always portrayed himself as one of the best entertainers, an image he will carry over onto the House floor,” his manager said.
